We believe that a rich variety of backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives enhances the educational environment for all.

Our Admissions Philosophy: A Holistic Approach

At Parvis, we understand that talent and potential manifest in many forms. Consequently, our admissions decisions are not based solely on examination results or academic transcripts. We undertake a comprehensive review of each application, considering a wide range of factors to build a complete picture of every candidate. This holistic approach allows us to appreciate the unique strengths, experiences, and aspirations that each applicant brings. We are looking for students who demonstrate:

  • Academic Excellence and Potential: A strong academic record appropriate to the level of entry, demonstrating intellectual capacity, diligence, and a readiness for rigorous study.
  • Creative Aptitude and Engagement: For programmes in Performing Arts and Arts & Cultural Enterprise, evidence of artistic talent, dedication to their craft, and experience in creative endeavours is highly valued. This may be demonstrated through portfolios, auditions, or records of participation.
  • Intellectual Curiosity and Initiative: A genuine desire to learn, explore new ideas, and engage critically with complex issues. We value students who are proactive, resourceful, and demonstrate initiative in their academic and extracurricular pursuits.
  • Commitment and Resilience: The determination to succeed in a challenging academic environment, coupled with the ability to learn from setbacks and persevere towards long-term goals.
  • Collaborative Spirit and Community Contribution: An aptitude for working effectively with others, a respect for diverse viewpoints, and a willingness to contribute positively to the Parvis community.

Admissions to High School Programmes

Entry to our High School programmes (A-Level pathway for Business Administration & Applied Economics; High School Diploma pathway for Performing Arts and Arts & Cultural Enterprise) is typically for students aged 16 and above. Successful applicants will usually demonstrate a strong academic record in their previous schooling, typically including excellent grades in subjects relevant to their chosen pathway. An interview is a standard part of the admissions process, allowing us to understand the student’s motivations, interests, and suitability for the Parvis environment. For arts-focused pathways, an audition or portfolio submission may be required to assess creative aptitude and potential. We also look for evidence of maturity, a commitment to study, and an enthusiasm for participating in the broader life of the school.

Admissions to Undergraduate Programmes (BA Hons, BSc Hons)

Admission to our Bachelor’s degree programmes is competitive and based on a holistic assessment of academic achievements, personal statements, references, and, where applicable, auditions or portfolio reviews.

  • Academic Requirements: Applicants are typically expected to have successfully completed A-Levels, an International Baccalaureate Diploma, or equivalent international qualifications at a high standard. Specific subject prerequisites or preferred subjects may apply depending on the chosen degree programme. For instance, strong mathematical aptitude is beneficial for the BSc in Business Administration & Applied Economics.
  • Personal Statement: This is a crucial component of the application, providing an opportunity for candidates to articulate their passion for their chosen field, outline relevant experiences and skills, explain their reasons for choosing Parvis, and showcase their future aspirations.
  • References: Academic references from teachers or tutors who can comment on the applicant’s academic abilities, work ethic, and potential for higher education are essential.
  • Auditions/Portfolios (for Arts Programmes): Applicants to the BA Hons in Performance & Sonic Arts will be required to audition, demonstrating their technical proficiency and artistic expression. Applicants to the BA Hons in Arts & Cultural Enterprise may be asked to submit a portfolio showcasing their creative work, project management experience, or written analytical pieces related to the arts.
  • Interviews: Shortlisted candidates for all undergraduate programmes may be invited for an interview, either in person or online. This provides an opportunity for a more in-depth discussion about their application, academic interests, and suitability for the programme.

Admissions to Postgraduate Programmes (MA, MSc)

Entry to our Master’s degree programmes requires a strong undergraduate degree (typically a good Honours degree or international equivalent) in a relevant discipline from a recognised university. The admissions process for postgraduate study places significant emphasis on a candidate’s research potential, academic background, and the alignment of their interests with the expertise of our faculty.

  • Academic Transcripts and Degree Certificate: Official transcripts detailing academic performance in previous higher education are required.
  • Research Proposal (where applicable): For some research-intensive Master’s programmes, particularly those with a significant dissertation component, applicants may be required to submit a preliminary research proposal outlining their intended area of study, research questions, and methodological approach.
  • Personal Statement/Statement of Purpose: This should articulate the candidate’s academic background, research interests, career aspirations, and specific reasons for wishing to pursue postgraduate study at Parvis. It should demonstrate a clear understanding of the chosen field and the specific programme.
  • Academic References: Typically, two strong academic references are required from individuals who can comment authoritatively on the applicant’s suitability for advanced postgraduate study and research.
  • Professional Experience (where relevant): For certain programmes, such as the MA in Arts & Cultural Enterprise or the MSc in Business Administration & Applied Economics, relevant professional experience may be considered an advantage and should be detailed in the application.
  • Interviews: Shortlisted candidates are often invited for an interview to discuss their application, research interests, and academic goals in more detail.

Parvis is committed to a fair and transparent admissions process. We encourage prospective students to thoroughly research our programmes and consider how their unique talents and aspirations align with the distinctive educational experience we offer.
